well here we go again another chapter in the guitar hero franchise. I bought this for my 9 year old son because he is a huge fan of guitar hero. wow what a dissapointment. this game sucks. the set list is terrible. remember when the songs on guitar hero used to be guitar driven songs that used to have great solos? this is absolute garbage, it feels like they were trying to copy rock band and put a bunch of crappy alt rock bands on here. well thats why i hate rock band. i remember when they used to good bands on here(slayer, dragonforce, pantera, lamb of god). dont buy this game, go get gh metallica or gh3 legends of rock

THIS GUITAR HERO GAME WAS NOT ALL THAT. FIRST OFF ALL THE GRAPHICS KIND OF LOOK MORE LIKE PS2 GRAPHICS, THE NOTES LOOK LAME! THE SONGS COULD HAVE BEEN A WHOLE LOT BETTER, WHY WOULD THEY PUT JOHNNY CASH RING OF FIRE IN GUITAR HERO 5. GET ANYOTHER GUITAR HERO GAME PREFERBALY WORLD TOUR INSTEAD OF THIS ONE!

As far as this title in the Guitar Hero family the graphics are far improved as well as game play however lets be honest the reason any of us play is for the music. This title has a lot of songs but most are by bands I have never heard of, but thats ok its good to branch out. This game is a five on play but a 3 1/2 on songs so I gave it an over all 4 stars. Only time will tell if the games story is a good one or if like 4 I will spend my time in quick play mode.

    Pros: More difficult than RB

Cons: Don’t expect any of the GOOD songs to be importable – ALL the Jimi/Doors/Any other song worth playing on GHWT are NOT exportable.

There’s only one benefit, in my opinion, of GH5 vs. GHWT and that is the ability for it work with the ION drum set. Not in 5 lanes, but only 4, which means you probably won’t be able to play online against others UNLESS they’re using a RB-compatible drum set.

Also, I have to say that Activision support is absolute crap considering that they brushed me off when I had asked if the ION will simply WORK with GH5. They responded with “it’s not supported, blah blah blah”. Obviously it works with it, and they didn’t have the time/effort to say so.

Save your money, it’s not worth it.

I thought the last few GH releases were kind of boring. Well the publisher has really stepped their game up on this one. First of all the game is really fun to play and you can jump right in to quick play and play any song in the game right off the bat.The graphics and animations in the game are top notch, way better than previous GH games. I also like the fact that multiple instruments of the same kind can be played at the same time, great for party play. The set list is solid, it has a great variety, my fav so far is Ring of Fire. Buy this game, they have put a lot of love into it.
